Historical Center
Declared in
1993 as
“Heritage
zone of
historical
and artistic
monuments”,
reflects the
wealthness
lived during
the Porfirio
Diaz period
and the gold
era of
Tampico, era
on which a
wave of
constructions
took place
and changed
the city
aspect
radically.
The
construction
of these
buildings
matched with
the
aesthetics
revolution
of Europe
where the
Art Noveau
style
appeared
giving birth
to
architecture
based on the
simplicity
and the use
of new
techniques

Catedral
Consecrated
to the
immaculate
conception,
the Tampico
is the most
valuable
temple of
the city.
Its
construction
began on May
9, 1841, in
charge of
the
construction
since 1850
was the
Architect
Lorenzo de
la Hidalga.
It suffered
a collapse
of its
central dome
in 1917 and
in 1922 it
collapsed
from the
west tower
due to a
lightening
hit,
therefore
was
submitted
into a
rebuilding
process
where was
commanded by
the Engineer
Ezequiel
Ordonez. Its
construction
style is
neo-classic
having a
plant on a
Latin cross
shape, a
dome
brunched in
pieces and
vaults on
romantic
style. With
two towers
of three
columns, in
the east
tower there
is an
English
clock
donated in
1888. Inside
the building
there is way
in the back,
the main
altar of
white marble
dedicated to
the
Conception
Immaculate
Virgin. |
Pánuco River
After
getting
across the
Tampico and
Madero
cities
releases its
water on the
Mexican
gulf, as a
division
between the
states of
Tamaulipas
and
Veracruz.
Touring
through this
river is an
activity
that we
highly
recommend
since you
will be able
to observe
the old
building of
the Marine
Customs; our
piers, our
shipyards
and the
construction
factories of
Marine
platforms,
to conclude
with a
beautiful
view of the
Miramar
beach and
its light
house; this
tour lasts 3
hours and
begins at a
popular
restaurant
of the
Morelos
area, a
fishingmen
colony is
found in the
shores of
the river.
The boat has
a capacity
for 100
people and
also offers
a restaurant
service and
typical
music live,

makes tours
daily,
according to
the season. |

valley area
with some
sand dunes
and white
sand, is
characterized
by its
calmed and
safe waters,
as well as
its easy

makes it a
place to
enjoy. 10 km

sand and
flat
straight
down
deepness for
you to be
able to walk
into the sea
without the
water
reaching
your waist,
you can
practice
several
water sports
such as
sailing,
surf, Jet
Ski and

also offers
a malecon

a monument
dedicated to
the fallen
marines,
built to
honor those
ones who
died on
Mexican
ships during
the Second
World War.
With the
light house

as reference
